New Lighthouse and Mule Barn, circa 1916

This undated photograph of a freshly-painted and well-maintained
structure probably was taken shortly after the new lighthouse was opened
in 1903. Visible at rear is the mule barn - looking quite new -
which was dismantled long ago. Also visible are several spindly,
widely-spaced trees. Sparse trees often remain after the surrounding,
dense forest has been logged, perhaps to improve visibility of the
light.
