Weddings
In a Magnificent Setting

Admiralty Head Lighthouse is an unforgettable setting for a small wedding or special ceremony.

Whitecaps dance on the waters below as eagles ride the thermals above. A sun-drenched ferryboat glides silently across Admiralty Inlet toward Port Townsend's Victorian harbor on the far shore. The jagged Olympic mountains tower majestically to the west - their ridges layered in mist and mystery.

It is truly a memorable setting in which to exchange vows before family and friends for a lifetime of love and discovery together. And chances are that it won't rain - central Whidbey Island gets only about 20 inches of rainfall a year.

Morning, afternoon or evening has its special mood at Admiralty Head. Ceremonies may be scheduled anytime during park hours - 8 a.m. until dusk - during times when the lighthouse is NOT open to the public.

The breath-taking beauty and peace of Admiralty Head will enchant your family and guests. This spectacular site has been at the crossroads of history for generations - witness to Native Americans, legendary explorers, decades of tall ships, adventurers, pioneers, soldiers and light-keepers.

Small wedding parties of 15 or fewer may be accommodated indoors for a ceremony in the lighthouse dining and sitting rooms. Fire department regulations restrict indoor ceremonies to 15 people.

Larger groups may use the front porch, where chairs may be arranged facing the steps of this elegant, century-old structure, named the favorite historical building on Whidbey Island. The elevated porch facilitates easy viewing of the ceremonies for attendees.

Several nearby facilities both on and off the Fort Casey grounds are equipped to handle receptions and accommodate overnight stays.

Receptions may be held at Garrison Hall, located on the grounds of Fort Casey. This is part of Fort Casey Inn, operated by Seattle Pacific University. Information about Garrison Hall and the Inn is available from the Fort Casey Inn. Another great spot to hold a reception is the Jenne Farm, which is just a couple of miles from the lighthouse.

Information about other overnight accommodations is available from the The Compass Rose, and at Lodgings of Coupville. For information about planning a wedding at Admiralty Head Lighthouse, please contact the lighthouse coordinator at AdmiraltyHeadLighthouse@gmail.com or contact the lighthouse at 360 240-5584. If you send an email make sure you write Wedding in the subject line. The lighthouse has wedding volunteers who will be at the lighthouse during the ceremony and will help set up and decorate before the wedding.

A fee of $300 is required two weeks in advance. The $300 is used for upkeep and restoration of the lighthouse. As a gift for having your wedding at the lighthouse, you will receive a one-year membership in the Keeper's of the Lighthouse group. You will also need a Washington State Parks Special Activity Permit Fee ($25.00). The Fort Casey State Park office can help you with this permit and their number is 360 678-4519.
